Street story: Endward the Jellyfish-like Graffito

Once it was a small brick builidng with a French restaurant on the ground floor and a couple of apartments above. Then there was a fire and the place sat vacant for a couple of years. When I get a chance I'll try to find photos of that and add them, but please don't hold your breath because I won't be responsible for your respiratory problems.

Then one day it became a deconstruction site - and it took maybe a week to take the little building down to the ground, maybe it was less, and while it was going on this blue plywood fence went up.
Somebody came along and painted a jellyfish like graffito and named it Endward. Then, for a few days there was a stop work notice stuck on Endward's forehead.
Then I came along and took a few pictures of Endward and people walking by without noticing the drawing or the stop work notice.
Now Endward is gone and it's a construction site. I don't know what they are putting up there, but I'm sure it won't be little French restaurant, nor will the building be of a piece with that particular stretch of Madison Avenue.
