Randall Woolf's "Crazy 8's" performed by the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company

Lar Lubovitch Dance Company at the Joyce Theater

Crazy 8's

So, what order do I put the credits in? The composer, Randall Woolf, is someone I'm friendly with, and whose music is the inspiration and foundation upon which the dance is built. So:

 Music composed by Randall Woolf.

The piece was choreographed by Lar Lubovitch with choreographic contributions by Katarzyna Skarpetowska and the company.

I am neither an expert on nor a regular follower of dance, but watching and photographing the three pieces I saw, I am immediately and intensely aware of the interaction of the choreography, the music and the performing dancers. For me, watching this was like watching a movie whose characters speak a language I do not understand, without subtitles. I create the story, building a coherent narrative in my mind.

There can be no denying that both the costumes, by Fritz Masten, and the lighting by Jack Mehler contributed greatly.

The dancers for "Crazy 8's" are Jonathan E. Alsberry, Anthony Bocconi, Nicole Corea, Atilla Joe Csiki, Oliver Greene-Cramer, Reed Luplau, Laura Rutledge and Katarzyna Skarpetowska.

In the near future I'll post photos of the other pieces I photographed.
