Quick One While I Was on the A
Shot these on the A train heading downtown from W. 125th St, Friday evening 8/7.
She was carrying a mini-amp and a mic on a long cord, but not Buddy Guy long. He was carrying his guitar. They plugged in and sang a song. A few people gave them some money. She smiled at me and I shot these photos.
I think they were heading to Brooklyn. We all got off at Columbus Circle and went our separate ways. He gave me his card. He's Vo Era (www.voera.com)she said her name was Eliki, but I'm not sure I got it right.
I think she said they were from Chicago.
We talked about Chicago and the Blues.

Stuart Parr Collection: Art of the Italian Two Wheel
For four months this year, from mid-April to mid-July, a person walking along Madison Ave. south of E. 42nd St. and paying attention, would've noticed the empty storefront at the corner of E. 40th and Madison occupied by some lovely motorcycles. Not the big metal Harley Davidson type, but rather sleek Italian bikes.
Since then plenty of folk have posted photos taken in the former Hallmark card store, stripped to the cement walls and floors, but they aren't MY photos.
Here's some of mine.
