Lambert Fine Arts on Stanton St. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Steve Dalachinsky and Marc Lambert |
The Unbearables, a drinking collective with a writing problem, gathered at Lambert Fine Arts - the former Fusion Arts Museum - on Stanton St. to read, say hi to each other, and to see and be seen.
There was a great crowd. It was standing room only. It would've been standing room only even if there were places to sit - which there weren't.
The readings were their usual quality. This not to damn with faint praise, nor a feint to avoid committing an opinion to paper. This was an exciting event filled with exciting, stimulating and often demanding works read by the people who wrote them. The audience was aroused.

So here are the first batch of photos. There will be more. Look for them somewhere around here.
By the way, don't forget to look for The Unbearables Big Book of Sex (okay, this is a link to the Unbearables web site, which is all new and shiny and ready to be spanked by Thad's protagonist), available at such fine booksellers as Posman Books and the St. Marks Bookshop. Are Chavisa and Anna celebrating Steve's award or are they toasting each other? |
