I walked past Posman Books in Grand Central Terminal on Saturday afternoon, January 3 2015. The windows were decorated as I never saw them before, which is to say they were bare, covered in green film. There was no way of knowing that a bookstore grew there. It wasn't the first bookstore in Grand Central Terminal and I hope it won't be the last.
BUT A MAJOR TRANSPORTATION HUB - GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL - WITHOUT A BOOKSTORE IS CRIMINAL.
This bookstore closed because GCT decided it didn't need a bookstore - it was profitable and popular. If the people who run the real estate wanted to find another place for it, they could have. Instead there are a swarm of coffee stands, several places to buy ice cream, flowers, many newsstands, an Apple Store that was rumored to have been given a special deal, but no bookstores.
Pathetic.
