The Empire Builder - Eclipse 2017

Traveling from Chicago to Spokane on the Amtrak Empire Builder during the great North American Eclipse of 2017, these are two photos I managed through the window of the exit door of the coach where our roomette is. I was ably assisted by two of my fellow passengers, Barb and Jack Lyon.

I will be adding more and revising this posting over the next couple of weeks as I add more photos of the eclipse.

The first photo was taken through some clouds. The ghost images you can see are due to the refraction through the glass.

The second photo was taken at the time of maximum eclipse where we were, somewhere in western North Dakota or eastern Montana, just south of the Canadian border.
