Two photos - the world I live in

I usually take photos of people, but in this rather odd time of social distancing, I am revisiting photos I've taken in which there are no people. The objects we make, the things I see, the accidents that form an image I want to save, are as valuable to me as the pictures of the people walking the streets of wherever I happen to be.

When we get back to a more normal life, where we don't stand six feet away from the person we are speaking with, where we don't scrub our hands for 30 seconds after touching things outside the home, where we no longer thing about whether to wear those latex gloves, I will look at pictures of people.

I don't go in for a lot of self-promotion, just a little, but I will mention on my own behalf that prints of these, and all the photos I've posted, are available. They are printed from hi-resolution digital negatives on photo paper, signed by me, in limited editions.

Steve Dalachinsky Memorial - Parkside Lounge NYC - 10/19/2019

A batch  of photos of the readers and performers remembering the late departed Steve Dalachinsky.

Too many people to name. If you want to add names in the comments, please do. It was an afternoon  of sharing memories, of consoling the bereaved and grieving together.

Steve, you are missed.

Easton (PA) Book Festival - The Unbearables

There was a book festival in Easton, PA the weekend of  Oct 25-27, 2019. According to their publicity there were more than 200 readers at more than 22 venues.

The Unbearables read at two of these venues, on Saturday afternoon at the International Fusionism Museum and on Sunday at The Quadrant Bookmart and Coffeehouse. I was at both events and took a few photos of the readers.

At the IFM were Amy Barone, Bonny Finberg, Ron Kolm, Karen Lillis, Deborah Pintonelli, Philip Rostek Esther Smith and Carl Watson

The event was a major success and people were asking if this was the first, and when would be the second.

RIP Steve Dalachinsky - a poet and a prophet

My friend and collaborator Steve Dalachinsky passed away this weekend.
He was reading at a venue on Long Island At the end he complained that things were going dark.
He suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage.
From what I heard, and I heard very little, he was transported to a hospital where the doctors told Yuko he had no chance of surviving.
He passed away peacefully that night or in the morning.

Rest in peace, Steve. I'll miss you too.

If you haven't read him, you are missing something. If you never heard and saw him read, it's too late now but you really did miss a great reader of his own work.
