No musings tonight on the nature of the universe, of whether scientific theories or mathematical proofs are invented or discovered, and no politics except to say don't be a fool, your liberty is not at stake when you act like a citizen: get vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.
Yesterday afternoon I met with my friend Ron for a beer and conversation. It was a very warm afternoon in Manhattan so we needed to meet somewhere cool. I suggested Urban Space which reopened a couple of months ago and has been very slowly adding vendors. It is a little sad that more than half the booths are still shuttered but heartening that there are more now than the last time I went by in June,
At the time we met on Friday afternoon Urban Space would have been quiet even during pre-pandemic times. It was less busy but it was in no way deserted and there was some traffic.
I chatted briefly with two groups of tourists and a few people working there. The family of three are from Arkansas, the other group is visiting from Argentina. While walking over to meet Ron I stopped and chatted briefly with the first couple, outside the JPMorgan building. They are from Arizona and they were marveling at the construction of the new JPMorgan Chase headquarters.
I am glad there are some people coming back to visit NYC. Will I still feel this way when they have returned in myriads instead of isolated groups?
