Tonight two great American politicians faced off in a debate. Running for Senate in some unnamed state are Bill Bunkum versus Joe Malarkey. Bill knows what he's saying when he's had just about enough malarkey for a lifetime. Joe, on the other hand, wants us to know that he won't give us any bunkum.
Berke Breathed, creator of "Bloom County," had this to say about the status of politicians: A statesman is a dead politician . . . and lord knows we need more statesmen."
Neither Bunkum nor Malarkey will every rise to the status of statesman. Instead they are reborn over and over again, promising the world, delivering nothing, only serving to serve themselves.
In this era of a bullshit president who is so full of himself that he can't see beyond the mirror he stands before, surrounded by yes men and women who kowtow, yielding their own personhood to that of the king of malarkey, the emperor of bunkum. Among men a blowhard and loudmouth, but emperor of the fools. The problem is the fool is in charge. That needs to change.
Unelect Trump.
Biden for President in 2020.
