Sunday - A change in the weather. Trump has become the swamp monster and is working to undermine democracy.

 I know what I say in this entry's title will anger and infuriate Trumpist zombies, but they believe him when he says that unelecting him will be the end of democracy. They do not see the the contradiction in his working to destroy the American citizen's belief in our democratic system, and methods, as working to destroy the democracy itself. These Trump zombies don't understand that he is not working to protect them from some horrible future, but rather to protect himself from falling out of office and into the hands of justice. He has spent three years appointing judges that he believes will keep him from facing his crimes, a belief that he is recognizing might be wrong when he reads the decision of what he thought would be a friendly Supreme Court. 

The sTrump'et has always been a liar and a cheater, as attested by his niece, Mary Trump in her book, and now by his former consigliere Michael Cohen, both at his trial and now in his about to be published book. He probably conspired with certain oft named foreign entities to help undermine the 2016 election, he requested help from the head of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, he has for his entire term showed a disdain for democratic processes and rule of law when those did not bend to his will, and now he is struggling mightily to insure he stays in office. 

We know what he is, but the level of danger that he is beginning to pose to the electoral process during this already perilous time of pandemic, has grown in magnitude. Should we hope that if he loses by any reasonable amount, that his supporters wake up and accept that electoral defeat, or should we fear that they will take arms and begin a civil war to keep their demagogue in power?

We must continue the struggle and unelect Trump, vote out his supporters from office, and keep his sock puppets from achieving a toehold in local offices.

If you live in the 92nd Senate District of NY State, a vote for Pete Harckham is a vote for good government, honesty and democracy. A vote for his opponent is a vote to sink the state into a morass of poor governance, demagoguery and anti-humanity. Don't let the evil ones one.
