Thursday - Rode the scooter to the train station on a cool morning. When Trump's lackeys believe him rather than science the world is turned upside down.

Lovely cool morning, and a pleasant afternoon. I rode the 18 year old Malaguti Yesterday to the train station, as I do most mornings if it is not raining. The scooter won't do much more than 30 mph downhill, and half that going up, but it is an exhilarating way to start and end the commute into Manhattan.

And now my daily rant.

First, this quote from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy at a news conference today, “If I just take the words of the CDC and the president, the president is right.” 

Second, from Mark Meadows, White House Chief of Staff, “If I were a betting man, I’d bet on President Trump.” 

Two men who are allegedly intelligent but obviously not independent thinkers. On the simple side of this, they will believe whatever Doofus Donald Trump says on health matters. Remember, Doofus Donald Trump is the person who said the virus would go away on it's own by Easter, and then went on to say a few months later as it continued to rage across the USA, that eventually it would go away and then he'd be right. Well, duh. Doofus Donald is also the man who wondered out loud during one of his tv appearances, that if bleach and disinfectant kills the virus on the skin, maybe people should inject it. Yeah, right on Boogers for Brains Trump, that's the best medical advice a president of the USA ever gave anyone. 

I could go on, citing all the occasions that Doofus Donald Trump was wrong about health issues, about Covid-19, the pandemic, its transmissability, it's virulence, and more, but this is enough for now.

So Meadows and McCarthy are either insane, blind adherents of a no-god, or the worst sort of suck-up toadies that could surround a leader - ones afraid to disagree because the big bad Doofus will tweet something nasty about them if they do.

Both of these men should remember, with Doofus Donald Trump, loyalty only goes one way. 

We need to keep reminding people of this, that if it's not about Trump, then it doesn't matter to him. We need to get this lying piece of stinking vanity out of the White House.

As we head into the holiest days of the Jewish year, I want to remember some of the people who survived the Holocaust and rebuilt wonderful lives here. Most of the older folk in these photos, but not all, have passed away. This is a remembrance
