Sunday- Still hot in the NYC region, and even hotter in Portland OR. Meanwhile, Trump fiddles.

I don't want to write about the weather, it is what it is - hot and uncomfortable and it does not look to get better the rest of the week. I feel bad for the cats, especially the long-haired one. But they will survive.

I am upset about what is going on in Oregon. My son is living in Portland and as a person of color, he is always at some risk because of that. He's level headed and probably won't do anything rash, but I stand with him if he goes out to protest.

The Department of Homeland Security ought to be concerned most with external threats and internal terrorism. Minor acts of vandalism can be handled by the local constabulary and it is most obvious from the videos released to the public made by witnesses, these "police" act more like storm troopers than police, and have been poorly trained for their jobs.

I am proud to say that their presence and their actions had the exact opposite reaction than was expected. Rather than suppressing dissent, it has stimulated more demonstrations and radicalized the people that were supposed to be cowed. Go Portland, OR, show the US that you are not going to let yourself be bullied into silence by a quasi-military response to a local issue.

Meanwhile, the sTrump'et continues to spew lies and bile. In his interview with Chris Wallace on Fucks News he stood behind a statement he made that Wallace not only contradicted, but challenged the baby-ibn-chief. Doofus Donald could do no more than stammer that it had be there somewhere.

The sTrump'et and his family continue to violate ethical norms and probably the law in so mant ways. It is time to silence them by standing up and marching, chanting Lock Him Up! The SCOTUS promises to move quickly on the sTrump'ets latest efforts to stop the law from getting hold of his tax returns. What is he hiding? When the truth is revealed, this is one wanna-be emperor who n has no clothes.

Unelect Trump. That's what we must do.

A few photos of people crossing the street.
