I usually don't dive right in to the embarrassment on Pennsylvania Avenue, the Doofus-in-Chief itself, but when I read while drinking a cup of coffee this morning that he's okay with wearing a mask if need be, that he's worn a black one and he thinks he looks good in it, like the Lone Ranger, I almost spit laughed. What did he do? Wear the mask over his face? Cover his eyes and imagine himself riding on a white horse with his sidekick, Stupid Halfpenny next to him? I imagine Halfpenny would tell him to pull it down over his nose and mouth.
Now if it was a gag instead of a mask . . . that would be useful. The man in the White House is a believer in magical thinking, believing this would all be over by Easter - that's the one that happened 2 1/2 months ago - and now tells us he knows it's just going to go away. Sure, after more than 200000 Americans die and who knows how many more get sick.
Did he listen two days ago when Dr. Fauci said we might be seeing as many as 100000 new cases a day? Did he not notice that yesterday the number of new cases once more was greater than in any previous day? And it isn't because we are testing more - the percentage of positives is greater than before as well.
We need to lose this man - so please get to work and make sure to vote to unelect the sTrump'et, to hold the house and take over the senate. We can do it.
But it all goes on and on. In Florida, Texas, Arizona and California the numbers of new cases of Covid-19 are escalating and it's scary. When it gets to the point where those who've previously politicized wearing a mask are turning around and telling the half-wits, self-important people who believed them that it's a good idea to wear a mask and socially distance, I am glad. But I would be happier if they'd own up to their mistakes and in so doing show those half-wits, etc. that it's okay to have been wrong when you now are getting it right.
I might be scared if I wasn't taking care.
And I'll say it again in case you missed it: UNELECT Doofus Donald, the sTrump'et must go!
Tonight, photos taken in the East Village of Manhattan a couple of years ago, when we were younger and more relaxed about being in close proximity to strangers. I was sitting in a bar, shooting through the window. The East Village has changed, but it's also stayed the same.
