As we head into the second half of July, the news about schools reopening in September is about to become even more politicized than it's been. Betsy DeVos, among the least qualified Secretaries of Education ever, and possibly among the most corrupt and self-serving has always stood out as a person who cares less about education than about money. We ought to call her "Privatize" deVos. Since educating American youth is about building the future of the country, failing to support education at the national level is another sign of the sTrump'et administration's efforts to cannibalize America's future for the benefit of the sTrump'etistas present enrichment. This has been made clear in everything the Doofus Donald has done, including his personally motivated acts of clemency, his gutting of environmental regulations, his efforts to exclude those who bring their ambitions here from outside the country to help build new business, his blatant attacks on the truth in general and the free press in particular, his politicizing of the pandemic and so on.
Now the gimlet eyed Secretary of Education is pushing for schools around the country to reopen without any regard for the safety of the teachers, the students and the staffs. Yes we need to educate our kids but the fact that in the early months of the pandemic, in NYC, for instance, there were an out-sized number of deaths among teachers and principals who were in the front line. Many of these are people threatened with very serious complications from Covid-19 if they become ill.
And if you ever had kids you know how easy it is to keep them practicing social distancing or other sanitary rules when they are not under the watchful eyes of adults. It isn't.
An epidemic among the educators of America would be another act that ought to be a felony on the part of those who push unsafe reopening, the sTrump'et, Privatize DeVos, the Fox News airless-heads and the airheads who suck at their teats.
Okay, I'm ranting but I am sick and tired of the toxic waste dump currently located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. By the time Doofus Donald and his toadies and ass-lickers leave in January, it will be a superfund site.
What can I say? Lock him up! Unelect Trump!
And don't think it will happen without working at it. We need to get out there and canvas the electorate in battleground states.
Be ready to volunteer some time.
Unelect the corrupt bastards and lock Trump up!
