A lovely day in Westchester county even if it was a little muggy. Not too hot, comfortable in the shade, a great day to hang out with friends for a couple of hours, even if we did sit more than six feet apart. I brought a bottle of 2018 Dry Riesling from Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars of Lodi, NY. It was their Red Oak single vineyard wine and it was delicious. The friends we were visiting are wine drinkers, too, but they haven't had an opportunity to sample much from the Finger Lakes, so it was my pleasure to bring them one.
On the political front, another mishandled purge. If these guys weren't in power, it would be quite hilarious, instead it's very very scary. Last night the Attorney General announced the resignation of the US Attorney for the Southern District of NY. , Geoffrey Berman. Berman turned around and said he had not resigned and he wasn't ready to leave. The AG went sniveling off to his master, the Ahole-in-Chief who either did or didn't say Berman's fired, but that's what the sniveling AG said, though sTrump'et denied he had anything to do with the firing. Well, either he did or he didn't and either the AG's a liar or sTrump'et is lying, or both. I'll go for both since neither of them seem to understand what the word truth means, and I would trust neither of them to ever do the right thing for anyone but themselves. Talk about self-serving, egotistic, narcissistic men who seem to be high on something, but certainly not on truth or facts.
Lindsey Graham, the toad from South Carolina, at least had the sense to say that the senators from NY state will have to approve whomever is appointed, which makes it hard for the sTrump'et administration to shove a toady into the office. Let's hope Graham has the gumption to keep his word considering the twitterstorm that's bound to follow from the Ahole-in-Chief.
Meanwhile in Tulsa, at least six aides working on the self-congratulatory even sTrump'et set up were diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus and the A-hole himself was livid that the news was made public. What's the matter, crybaby donald, can't take the heat? We'll do our best to get you out of office come this year's election.
So everybody, let's unelect sTrump'et. He has about as much leadership quality as a pile of cat shit. In fact, he has less.
Picking a few photos is harder than ranting about dunking donald s'Trump'et. Tonight I'll revive a series I started and then let taper off a few years ago, Street Corner Theater. In these, the photos of people waiting to cross a street looked as if they were posed, a frozen moment in a complex and choreographed scene.
Added in is one photo, the top one, in which the geometry caught my eye and gave me pause. It helps that everyone in it is smoking, too.
