Sunday - certainly it's spring and we are closer to reopening

Ok, so Westchester is only a half-step ahead of NYC, or maybe a whole step, since once routine events such as elective surgery are starting again, and doctors' offices are starting to make appointments, and yes, area beaches will be open at the discretion of local authorities in NY, CT, NJ and DE for Memorial Day Weekend, but with limits to human density. Baby steps but forward motion indeed.

The number of NEW case of the illness are tapering down in the region, which is great, but there are still too many, so here I am on this incredibly pleasant May Sunday wandering around the garden, pacing in the driveway and then finally getting in the car and driving to a county park I've never been to before even though it's pretty close to where I live, only to discover it doesn't have any hiking trails. Darn.

But at least nobody in the house is ill, and my family is well. So here are a few photos for today. It's a small posting of photos taken in Manhattan not long before we began The Great Pause.

It was Ash Wednesday and these three bearers of the mark caught my eye.
